Ride, Run, Shoot, Fence, and Swim in beautiful Rancho Mirage, California.
West Coast Pentathlon is hosting a week-long training camp and open competition and national qualifier for Seniors, Juniors, and Youth.
Riding: We will ride at the beautiful Rancho Mirage Riding Park training with Olympic coach Michael Cintas of Equestrian Center International. The horses are exquisite world championship class.
Combined Run/Shoot: The coach will be Carmelo Felix, Modern Pentathlon World Cup medalist and member of the Mexican Olympic team in Barcelona. The venue is the open space at Rancho Mirage Riding Park. The shooting coaches are Mike Duffy and Carmelo Felix. There will group and individual coaching.
Swimming: The venue is the beautiful Palm Desert Aquatic Center. The coach is Lou Ben Hobbins, former SCAA All-American swimmer and and elite coach.
Fencing: Your coaches will be former Olympian Elaine Cheris, owner of Cheyenne Fencing in Denver, Colorado, former Olympian Carmelo Felix, and Leslie Taft, owner of Desert Fencing.
Entries are due on December 10, 2014.
Camp pricing is $100 per day. This includes:
- Riding, swimming, running, shooting and fencing instruction
- Ground transportation to events
- Airport pickup
Private fencing lessons are also available for an extra fee.
What to bring
- Your running, swimming, fencing, and riding attire
- Your own equipment (epées, fencing clothing, pistols, riding helmets, etc.)
NOTE: Laser pistols and laser targets will be supplied by USA Pentathlon for training and the competition.
