We are an active Modern Pentathlon club in the United States, and our president stays in close contact with pentathlon organizers throughout the world. Despite our name, we have members all over the country as well as in England.
If you are a pentathlete—or interested in becoming a pentathlete—you’re in the right place.
We are a serious group—with serious goals. But we welcome beginners and will work with you to help you achieve your personal goals.
Poke around the Web site. The best place to begin is the News section that details all our activities. Then take a look at the competition link. Our club hosts qualifiers and some of our members will probably go to World Championships. We’re fun—but we’re serious.
If you have any questions, please e-mail us. We love to hear from you.
Some Background on Our Group
We know you probably have a lot of questions about us, so here’s a quick overview:
Who? We are a youth organization of pentathletes, ages 5 to 26.
What? Modern Pentathlon is a demanding Olympic sport made up of five disciplines (running, swimming, shooting, fencing and jumping horseback) competed in four events (swim, fence, show jumping, and run/shoot).
Where? We’re based in Northern California but have members all over the country. And we compete and train all over the world.
When? Our pentathletes compete regularly, attend specialized camps at least twice a year, and train nearly every day. There is no “off-season” in pentathlon.
Why? Good question! Pentathlon is a sport for mature athletes who are self-disciplined, welcome challenge, enjoy competition, and are eager to excel. It’s perfect for all-round athletic types who may not be superstars in one particular sport, but want to enjoy national and international competition.
